The 22-year-old has been hiding in a house in Dover, near Amberio-in-Boogie, since Tuesday evening. There he took his father, stepmother, 17-year-old sister, 15-year-old half-brother and 5-year-old half-sister as hostages.
The neighborhood was sealed off and the police tried to negotiate with the man, but there was little response. It was also quiet at night.
The young man left the house on Wednesday afternoon and was killed by a sniper from the GIGN (Group Intervention of the National Gendarmerie).
At the house, the police found the bodies of his father, stepmother, sister, half-brother and half-sister.
According to local residents, the shooter, who worked in a fast food restaurant, had been suffering from psychological problems for some time. But what he acquired to kill his family will remain a mystery.
The newly formed family lived there for only two years. The guy had a construction company.
It is not yet clear how the victims died. The French Prosecutor’s Office is not communicating at the moment. It was established that the offender was armed with a firearm and a katana, a Japanese samurai sword.
