For the second time in less than a week, Twitter suffered technical problems. Users of the US microblogging site briefly received an error message when they tried to open links.
“Some parts of Twitter may not work as expected at this time,” the company said in a tweet. “We’ve made changes internally with unintended consequences. We’re working on that now.” CEO Elon Musk described the platform, which he took over at the end of October, as “fragile” in another tweet.
On Wednesday, Twitter also encountered problems, as a result of which users’ Twitter feeds were not fully loaded.
In recent months, Twitter has suffered from technical problems several times. At the end of December, there was a massive outage with many users unable to access their own accounts.
The staff fired
The technical issues come at an embarrassing time for the company’s billionaire owner, Elon Musk. Since the purchase, which cost about $44 billion, Musk has laid off a significant portion of the staff, including many of the platform’s engineers.
