Two actors working on the upcoming Netflix series “The Chosen One” were killed and six others injured when the truck they were traveling in crashed in Mexico on Thursday.

The Baja California State Department of Culture has released the names of the actors. It’s about Raymundo Garduno Cruz and Juan Francisco Gonzalez Aguilar. The six injured are believed to be members of the crew and crew. They are said to be in stable condition.
The truck is believed to have veered off the road and overturned. Local media reported that the accident occurred in a desert area near the town of Molege on the Baja California Sur peninsula.
A source close to the production told Variety that the group was on its way from Santa Rosalia to the local airport.
The series is based on the “American Jesus” comic book series by writer Mark Millar and artist Peter Gross. According to the Netflix description, it is about a twelve-year-old boy who discovers he is the returning Jesus Christ, destined to save the world.
Filming for the series, formerly called “American Jesus”, is said to have begun in Mexico in April. Redrum, the company that leads filming, has paused production, Deadline reported Saturday.
