Two women die while trying to rescue a dog from an Italian mountain river outside

On Thursday, the bodies of two Italian women were found in a mountainous area in Lombardy, northern Italy. Rescue services said the two victims, aged 54 and 60, jumped into a stream near the Villaria glacier on Wednesday to save their dog but did not survive.

The animal had fallen into a river in the high mountains near the Swiss border. The dog’s owners then chased the dog, but were dragged away by the strong current of the cold river, according to the research. The dog probably fell off the bridge into the water, according to the first build.

Five rescuers from the Italian Mountain Rescue Service, which specializes in canyon rescues by helicopter, began a search with colleagues from the local emergency service in Malincutal. In the early hours of Thursday, they finally found the bodies of the two victims under a bridge near a dam.
