Ukraine begins construction of the second camp for Russian prisoners of war outside

Ukraine has begun establishing a second camp for many Russian prisoners of war. The authorities announced that “at the same time, preparations are being made to establish another camp.”

The large number of prisoners of war was due to the weak motivation of the Russian soldiers. They will surrender voluntarily and become prisoners of war. In addition, there has been no prisoner exchange with the Russians since August.

According to various media outlets, the new camp will be located in the Vinnitsa region in western Ukraine, bordering neighboring Moldova. West 2 should accommodate 300 people. Camp West 1, located in the Lviv region, can accommodate about 600 prisoners of war, according to previous reports.

The exact number of prisoners of war is unknown. It is estimated that Russia is holding several thousand Ukrainians in captivity. The number of defenders of the coastal city of Mariupol in southern Ukraine alone is said to be 1,900 individuals.
