“Barbie” actress America Ferrera received the award for “Best Movie Performance of the Year.” During her speech, the actress took the opportunity to thank “Barbie” director Greta Gerwig and her “Barbie” co-star Margot Robbie. He said: “Thank you to everyone who voted for me and “Barbie.” She continues: “I would also like to thank Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie. I hope I made you proud.” In addition to “Best Movie Performance of the Year,” the film won several top awards at the People's Choice Awards. Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling took home the awards for Best Movie Star and Best Movie Star. “Barbie” also won Same as Best Picture of the Year and Best Comedy.
Barbie vs. Oppenheimer
Barbie was nominated for eight awards at this year's People's Choice Awards. The film managed to get five nominations in total. Oppenheimer had to settle for one award: Drama Movie of the Year. However, Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer was the big winner at the BAFTAs. The film won no less than seven awards. Barbie was nominated five times, but went home empty-handed. However, the BAFTAs, the British equivalent of the Oscars, are slightly more prestigious than the People's Choice Awards.
Taylor Swift was also one of the big winners at the awards show. The American singer, who did not attend in person, received four statuettes, including Artist of the Year and Pop Artist of the Year. The global star also won in the categories of “Concert Tour of the Year” and “Social Celebrity of the Year”.
Moreover, “Grey's Anatomy” also won awards at the People's Choice Awards. The medical drama series won the “Show of the Year” award. Rachel Ziegler won for her role in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Other big winners include Lucky, Pedro Pascal, Jennifer Aniston and Billie Eilish.
