Bundesliga
Bayern Munich failed to fight the third-placed Bundesliga champion Bayer Leverkusen. Niklas Sule’s opening goal was not enough to win.
Things at Bayern are not the way we are used to. At home, the number 3 in the standings, Bayer 04 Leverkusen, cannot be settled.
Defender Niklas Sule opened the scoring early with a corner kick, but before the end of the first half the score was level again after an own goal by Thomas Muller. Extended a free kick from Karim Demirbay to the wrong goal.
After that, Leverkusen came close to winning. Bayern Munich defender Dayot Obikano played well, but Amin Adly forgot to make it 1-2 and hit the post.
Bayern could see Dortmund slip up again up to 6 points in the standings. Although Lewandowski and his teammates will now undoubtedly focus first on their Champions League comeback against Red Bull Salzburg.
