Joe Biden is doing great. The US president tested positive for the coronavirus two days ago, but is not suffering from it except for a few mild symptoms. According to spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre, the 79-year-old president received two booster doses and continues to work in isolation.

The president is infected with the PA.5 variant of the coronavirus, which accounts for eighty percent of infections in the United States. “Fortunately, our vaccines work against the virus,” said Ashish Jha, the White House’s coronavirus response coordinator. “According to his medical team, the President is doing well. Yesterday/Saturday was a good day for him. He has some mild symptoms, mostly viral. I mean, an upper respiratory infection, but he didn’t care about that. I didn’t get any updates this morning/Sunday, but last night he felt much better.

Biden posted a video on the social networking site Twitter earlier this week, insisting he was fine. “The president continues to function in isolation and is able to carry out his full range of duties,” White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said.
