“We will continue to support Ukraine as long as they need it. That does not mean we will continue to support them with the same level of military funding that we did in 2022 and 2023,” State Department spokesman Matthew Miller told a briefing.
The US does not consider it necessary to continue support at the same level, as Washington's goal is to help Kiev stand on its own feet and build its own military-industrial base that can finance, produce and buy its own weapons.
Miller insists that more funding is needed before Ukraine can succeed in building its own military-industrial base. “But we're not on that path yet, and that's why it's so important that Congress pass a bill for additional funding, because we're not yet at the point where Ukraine can only defend itself with its own armed forces.”
Putin could not and could not achieve his ultimate goal of conquering all of Ukraine
The White House has previously announced that the US has no money for more military aid to Ukraine until the US Congress approves a new aid package. President Biden has previously urged Congress to quickly approve additional aid to Ukraine.
see Kirby pointed out earlier this week that the piggy bank the US has created for support for Ukraine is completely empty.
John Kirby, a spokesman for the U.S. National Security Council, pointed out earlier this week that the bill the U.S. created to support Ukraine was completely empty. He also requested that fresh funds be sanctioned as soon as possible.
“Russia has failed”
For Miller, it is clear that Russia has failed. “Putin has not and will not achieve his ultimate goal of taking over all of Ukraine,” it said. “We must continue to support Ukraine. They need this help, they depend on it. Hopefully they will continue to fight against a brutal Russian onslaught that will continue. So it is important that Congress take steps to continue funding this self-defending democracy.
