Van Hool receives a new order for 112 battery-powered buses in the Netherlands

QBuzz will use buses from December 15, 2024 in the North-Holland transport area in the province of South-Holland. The transport company has acquired the new concession for the region with cities such as Leiden, Gouda and Alphen aan den Rijn.

“This new order from Qbuzz, the largest order for the Van Hool ‘A’ city bus, comes less than a year after a previous order for 54 units by this Dutch transport organization. Van Hool will therefore build 166 buses for Qbuzz.” The company has so far sold more than 400 vehicles of its new range of buses with battery electric, fuel cell (hydrogen) or trolley drive.

Last week, there was an uproar in our country because De Lijn ordered 92 buses from the Chinese bus builder BYD. De Lijn had previously awarded orders to Flemish bus builders Van Hool and VDL, as well as Italian Iveco, among others.

Van Hool has more than 3,500 employees worldwide, most of whom work at production facilities in Koningshooikt (Lier) and Skopje in North Macedonia.

Van Hoel did not provide financial details of the request.
