A great weekend for Vincent Basdance in the United States. The 34-year-old rider managed to win his second cyclocross of the weekend in Rochester, New York on Sunday. He crossed the finish line nine seconds later, beating compatriot Anton Ferdinand.
Third place in the men’s cross went to Switzerland’s Loris Ruiler, who crossed the finish line thirteen seconds after winning. On Saturday, Bastens won the USCX series as well, finishing ahead of home rider Andrew Strohmeier and (also) Loris Rauller. Anton Ferdinand was disqualified on Saturday for carrying a water bottle in an unauthorized area.
As well as at Peydance, Mahalie Rosette managed to achieve a women’s double in Rochester. There was no limit to the Canadian on Sunday, who only had his mates by his side on the podium. Only 18-year-old Isabella Holmgren finished second by 23 seconds. Third was Sydney McGill, a minute and a half behind.
In the men’s USCX series standings, Rouiller leads with 156 points, while Baestaens follows with 154 points. In the women’s, Rosette is after four wins in a row pending with 180 points. France’s Caroline Mani is second with 137 points.
