Challenger Pro League
Jong Genk opened the new season of the Challenger Pro League with a hard-fought victory over SK Beveren: 1-0. The only 15-year-old Konstantinos Karitsas dismantled with kind help. A simple start for Beveren.
Due to the new regulations, players can now debut in the JPL and Challenger Pro League at the age of 15. Jong Genk took advantage of this to drop Konstantinos Karetsas at the base against SK Beveren.
And it didn’t take long for the best talent to make his mark: with a sweet through ball he put striker Kelvin John on his way to the opening goal: 1-0. Then, the visitors from Beveren took the lead, especially after Manguelle’s red.
But even after the break, Beveren failed to put the equalizer on the scoreboard. Ismail missed chances and Filipovic’s header fell into the way. For example, Beveren starts the season in a secondary way, and the victory is a boost for Jong Genk.
