“Watermelon Game” is simple but addictive

At #FlairBookClub and #FlairBingeClub we are happy to recommend the best books, movies and series. But of course we shouldn’t forget the gamers and board game lovers! That’s why we offer our own Flair section: #FlairGameClub, in which we recommend a different game each month. In November, we put the simple, cheap but addictive “Suika Game” also known as the “Watermelon Game” in the spotlight.

Identity group:

age? 3+

Number of Players? 1 player

console game? Nintendo Switch and PC

What is the goal of the game?

Merge small fruits together to finally form a huge watermelon!

How it works?

“Suika Game” or “The Watermelon Game” is a bit like Tetris but with moving fruit. It is very simple: Two cherries become strawberries, two strawberries become raspberries, two raspberries become tangerines, and so on! The more fruits you collect, the bigger your fruits become and the more points you get. But be careful, because the small fruit quickly slides to the bottom and the large fruit can obscure everything. How high can you score until the box is full?

Why would you definitely want to play it?

The game is certainly not new, but it recently became available on Nintendo Switch for a very cheap price! You pay only €2.99 for the digital copy. Perfect for those who like variety, but don’t want to pay a lot. If you want to play it for free, you can do so via the website. Although I personally like it better on my console.

Plus, you won’t spend hours playing a game (unless you’re the best in the world?). For example, I played for about five minutes until I became “broken.” So you can take the game as a break quickly. It’s also not on time, so if you want to take a break, you can leave it there. It’s a very simple game, but addictive and relaxing at the same time. I really recommend it to everyone.
