Butcher ‘t Hoekse in Pasbrug (Mechelen) launched a call for witnesses. “On the night from Friday to Saturday, one of the butcher shop windows was broken. Who saw or heard anything?”
A neighbor who came home around 1:30 on Friday noticed that there was a lot of glass on the floor around the ‘t Hoekske display case at the corner of IJzerenveld and Borgersteinlei. One of the butcher’s windows was shattered. The lady immediately called the police, who woke the manager up.
There are no camera pictures
“We didn’t find any stone or anything else in our butcher shop, so we suspect someone smashed glass with their fist, for example,” says Patrick van den Broeck. “The police will organize a neighborhood investigation, but honestly we don’t expect much from it because none of the neighbors heard or saw anything. There are no camera pictures either. This could just be a cowardly act of senseless vandalism, leaving us with a lot of Paperwork and expenses to fix the window.”
Anyone who notices something about ‘t Hoekske can report it to the local Rivierenland police.
