Wolverhampton is in trouble. The club has fallen to the penultimate position in the Premier League after 1 in 12 and with just 10 points, Wolves are in danger of being relegated.
This is the reason for the dismissal of coach Bruno Lage, and last week he was replaced by the Spaniard Julen Lopetegui, the former Sevilla, Porto and Real Madrid. This coach should help Wolverhampton get extra points, but especially with the extra goals. So far, Wolverhampton has scored only 8 goals in 14 Premier League matches. According to English broker The Athletic, one solution is simple: Lopetegui wants to bring back striker Fabio Silva in January, currently on loan to Anderlecht. At Purple and White, the 20-year-old Portuguese was good at scoring 9 goals and 3 assists in 26 games. He is now in a lower state, but he still knows the way to the goal.
Wolverhampton still believes in Silva. Before being loaned to Anderlecht last summer, the striker first had to sign for another year. It remains to be seen if a return is contractually possible. After loaning Fabio Silva – who took over his RSCA salary – Lotto Park was always told there was no return option in the New Years. At the moment, Anderlecht does not seem to be able to do without Fabio Silva. (kettle)
