Woman shot in Dutch mall fighting for her life, still on the run five days later | Abroad

The 38-year-old woman who was shot dead on Saturday in a shopping center in the Dutch municipality of Zvendrecht is fighting for her life. her family said in a statement. The suspected shooter, Minh Nghia Phuong, is still on the run. The mother of the injured woman (66) was killed by gunfire.

Police found the prime suspect’s third getaway car in Hook van Holland on Tuesday night. The black seater Ibiza was parked near the home of an acquaintance of Fong’s. The house on Dolphijnstraat was raided and searched by the police. Two other getaway cars have been found before in Zwijndrecht and Rotterdam.

Phuong is suspected of murder and attempted murder. Prosecutors in the Netherlands offered a reward of 30,000 euros for the tip leading to him. The family is glad to have such a quick response, but now they want to be left alone.

According to a police spokesperson, Vuong cannot leave the country by boat. “Wherever there is border control, he cannot pass.”

Police posted a more recent photo of the suspect online yesterday. It probably looks more like what Vuong looks like now.
