It is no longer a secret that Pauline Ferrand-Privo is a phenomenon on a bike. The French rider was the first to win the world road, track and mountain bike title in the same season (2014-2015).
Today, for the first time, a world gravel riding championship was held in Italy. And yes, this rainbow shirt can also measure the French phenomenon beyond today.
On a track consisting of 32% off-road, 24% hard gravel, 1% gravel, 10% “hard surface” and 31% asphalt, Ferrand-Prévot broke free quickly with an elite quad. Only Germany’s Jade Treffeisen, Swiss Sina Frei and Italy’s Chiara Teocchi led the 700m.
The quartet stayed on top for the entire race and together made their way through the idyllic roads of northern Italy. nice scene. At times, the riders seemed to move through a moving board.
At the end in a row, Ferrand-Prévot pulled her brush again and was able to draw another serious line towards the end. A super ultimate race that makes her the number one world champion in gravel riding. Switzerland’s Sina Fry came in second. There were no Belgians at first.
