televisionJan Paternoster (34) gave co-coaches Quinn Waters, Natalia and Matthieu Therrien a chance during the penultimate round Blind tests From “The Voice of Flanders”. He won no less than five of the six candidates for whom the coaches competed. No matter how disappointed the other coaches were, they fully appreciated it: Jean had fewer candidates than the rest so far. “I felt like it was starting to get heavy,” Matteo said.
“It was difficult to compete against Jan today. It's really amazing how many times people picked him. But I'm happy for him,” Quinn responded after the penultimate match. Blind tests. Matteo also gave it to his colleague. “Jean has already reached cruising speed.” “His explanations are incredibly good,” Natalia noted. Jan himself was of course over the moon. “I'm having a good day. A lot of people choose me, it's nice that way,” he smiled proudly.
look. Tim tries again in “The Voice of Flanders”
For Natalia it was twice as disappointing. Production manager Tim Blumaert, 29, from Ghent, took part in The Voice of Flanders two years ago, but then ended up on Team Queen. Once again, Natalia liked his version of Rhys Lewis's song “No Right to Love You” and hoped she could have him this time. “I thought it was a magical moment, to see you sitting there, so sincere. “And also what you sang,” he said. Matthew turned first, but to no avail. Tim firmly chose January. “It was very vulnerable, and there was a lot of emotion in it. That's what music is all about. You put your heart into it. I immediately want to try it again, I was impressed,” says proud trainer Jan. Quinn recognized Tim's voice, but didn't pay attention to it again. “It's good to have her involved again, because she didn't last long enough last time.” Tim is more confident on stage than ever, thanks in part to his new girlfriend. “Two years ago I was very insecure. “Meanwhile, my self-confidence has increased and I value myself more.”

Metal and blues
Natalya also lost to Jan along with metal fan Wouter Meine (34) from Denze. “It wasn't always 100 percent perfect, but I enjoyed it and I want to put the time and energy into taking you to the next level,” Jan replied. Wouter performed a powerful version of “Crawling” by Linkin Park. “Growing up wasn't always easy for me. My mother died very early. This song brought me solace,” says Futter. Both Quinn and Matteo were not convinced. “It wasn't often true,” concluded Quinn. “But with guidance, you will succeed.”
look. Natalia is disappointed when Sophie chooses Jean
Natalia was also very disappointed that Sophie Ertrix (26) from Hasselt chose Jan after her performance of 'Married to the Blues' by The Nortons. “I think you have a very beautiful voice. But you were shocked when you turned around. “I can teach you to focus more and maintain your individuality,” I tried to convince her. But Sophie saw something more in Coach Jan. “You have a really beautiful voice and you have credibility. I'd like to see more dynamics and individuality, but if you want to sing the blues, you're definitely welcome on my team.

Sound bell
Jan also won with Christoph Verheul (42) from Rosselare. Kristoff shocked the entire audience with his version of “The Rambler” by Black Stone Cherry. Christoph is a teacher but also a singer and guitarist in the rock band Plein. “For votes like that, I'm happy to be in this seat. This was an incredibly good audition. Most importantly, it was a real performance,” said Matteo. Natalia replied: “If you want to keep doing this genre, you will continue In touching people.” “It was very cinematic. You drew the entire room to your lips. “You have a wonderful, beautiful voice,” Jean concluded.

Giving up the job for music
For communications director Anouk Dubois, 34, of Duffel, Jan had to make a little effort to bring her in, because the other coaches were still hungry for her rendition of “Muddy Waters” by LP. However, Quinn actually seemed to regret not coming back. “I'm glad Jan turned around, because I'm really curious what you'll bring next time. I think you'll surprise us.” Jan praised her natural performance, great voice, music, and tough attitude. A dream has come true for Anouk. Just before the Corona period, she gave up her job to study music. “The years I spent in the jazz studio were the best of my life. I wanted to devote myself completely to music, but then the global lockdown came and music became out of the question. To be able to pay for my life, I started working again. But now I want to prove to myself That I have to put music at the forefront again.
