It is still unknown if and when these pause announcements will come. Alphabet, Google's parent company, noted during its quarterly earnings review that this type of advertising works well. We mainly wonder where people don't yet believe that advertising works well. It's now at the beginning of the video, it's in the middle, it's getting longer and longer, and it's becoming increasingly difficult for people with an ad blocker to use YouTube without ads.
More from YouTube Premium
It does all of this with one goal: to make sure as many people as possible switch to a YouTube Premium subscription. The annoying thing for users is that it is a rather expensive subscription (12 euros) and that the Lite version was not available for six months (while it was much cheaper). On the other hand, what's annoying for Google/YouTube is that YouTube was once less filled with ads, so it's less easy to convince people to take up such a subscription. They have become “used” to something different, and it is sometimes difficult for them to let go of that.
Anyway, who knows how those commercials will turn out: will they actually be very annoying, or won't they be so bad since you've been distracted for a while? No doubt it will be available on YouTube very soon.
