Zeno Debast is playing for the title with RSC Anderlecht. Although he is also busy with his summer transfer at the back of his mind.
His father Raf said in an interview with Het Laatste Nieuws that the title fight does not put additional pressure on Zeno Debast.
“Anderlecht’s youth players are also accustomed to playing in prestigious tournaments in front of large crowds from an early age. Things could still go either way in those final matches. The perception is that of the three title contenders, Anderlecht are currently below average from Where football is, I understand that we also prefer to see dominant football, but in the end it is the points that matter.”
20 million euros
Winning the title would be a nice parting gift for Debast, because in the current circumstances, Anderlecht want to make use of the defender, just as they did with Bart Verbruggen last year. The goalkeeper left for €20 million and the Purple & White would also like to get that amount for Debast. Sporting Lisbon seems to be the most realistic at the moment.
He added: “He wants to focus fully on the remaining matches and we sympathize with him 200%.” Father Debast quickly adds: “There is certainly a possibility of his departure, but nothing has been finalized at the moment.”
