Jupiler LeagueZolt, Wargem and Kortick tied 2-2 after a crazy second half. It was KVK 0-2 in the West Flemish derby and it seemed like no problem for the Kortrijk residents, but Pletinckx and Vossen managed to get a point of fire for Essevee. For Kortrijk, this draw would look like a defeat.
Zulte Waregem and KV Kortrijk faced not only two neighbors, but also rivals. KVK coach Luka Elsner had to baffle things, because he only had one defender available for the West Flemish derby. Radovanovic and Rojo are suspended, while Derek is injured. Only Trent Sainsbury’s shot. Due to the many absentees, Vandendrichi was pushed back one row. Francky Dury started surprisingly with Frank Boya in the center of defence. It promised to be a tough match, because both fans made their voices heard well before the match started.
The first chance for the match was one for Isefi. Zinho Gano headed next to Ilic’s cage. After that chance for Zolt Varegem, it was KV Kortrijk who had the upper hand and that led to a unique opportunity for the opening goal through Gueye, but Posten saved well with a header from Senegalese striker Van de Kerls. Only half an hour later, the entirety of Sault Wargem shouted for a penalty kick. Kutesa kicked Vandendrichi’s hand, but Botterberg and the VAR system did not interfere. Correct decision. After a lackluster first half, we entered the dressing room with an amazing result.
The second half was a thousand times better than the first. There was an instant chance for Essevee. Kutesa was criticized, but Marco Elek put in a great show. He pushed the skin directly on Janu’s head, who nodded at the bar. KVK got away well. A little later, Zolt Vargym is back there again. Boya tried a long shot, but his shot went too far. Isefi’s supporters saw the ball inside the court and jumped straight.
Out of nowhere, KV Kortrijk took the lead. Sirani made a dramatic pass to the center of his defense and took advantage of Soleimani. Qamari accepted the gift from Sirani and gave the ball to Jay at the perfect moment. The Kirils striker did not hesitate and celebrated his goal in abundance with the Al-Fikaa fans. KVK also introduced 0-2 a little later. Postin pushed a direct free kick from Soleimani to the feet of substitute Okansi and he only had to tap the ball.
Five minutes before the end of the match, defender Plettinex hit the tie-breaker at Issei. Frankie League hope forces gained and tied. Deweli defeated Dombe and Issei was awarded a penalty. Jelle Vossen flawlessly shifted eleven meters.
Zolt Wargham hasn’t won at home this season, but that point would be good after he’s been 0-2 in debt. For KVK and Luka Elsner, this point split would look like a defeat.
