New VR glasses also let you play games while seeing your living room, for example. Additional virtual objects can be displayed on them. One of the games being developed for Quest 3 is “BAM”. In fact, Zuckerberg showed a few games for his new device during the presentation, but the Belgian production was included.

It’s a game in which you compete against other players in what looks like a virtual arena at your dining table, for example. You can do this using a robot that you control with your controller, which, among other things, has to throw opponents off the field. Other players can be in the same room or elsewhere through online multiplayer as they call it.

BAM was created by I-Illusions, a Belgian game studio from Geraardsbergen that also made “Space Pirate Trainer”, which was one of the most popular VR games in the early years of VR. It still appears regularly on “best virtual reality games” lists. The game’s developers were present in the US at the Meta to showcase their products, and visitors were enthusiastic: “Our game was also one of the few to receive a demo,” says Dirk Van Welden of I-Illusions.

Update 10/2/2023: BAM is a launch title for Quest 3 and will be released on October 10th.
